RoHS Compliant Circuit Boards
Available at CEC!
Certified to meet the Standard!
Calumet Electronics has been
manufacturing printed circuit boards
in the USA for over 35 years. During
that time it has built a solid
reputation of providing solutions
that exceed expectation. We continue
that tradition with our new line of
RoHS Compliant Printed Circuit
Boards that are engineered for
compliance AND
assembly processing compatibility!
RoHS (Directive 2002/95/EC)
The
European Directive 2002/95/EC
restricts the use of hazardous
substances in electronic equipment.
The following substances are
restricted effective July, 2006.
Directive 2002/95/EC (RoHS)
restricted substances:
- Lead
- Mercury
- Cadmium
- Hexavalent
chromium
-
Polybrominated biphenyls (PBB)
-
Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE)
RoHS Compliant Printed Circuit
Boards
Calumet Electronics Corp. has
developed alternative circuit boards
that comply with the RoHS Directive.
Electroless Nickel / Immersion Gold
(IPC-4552), Immersion Silver
(IPC-4553), and a new, lead-free
solder (SN100CL) HASL finish are
available. We have Vendor Material
Declaration Data Sheets verifying
compliance for the base materials
used, as well as, additive
processes. Each board is engineered
for compliance. A Work Order
accompanies each order indicating
each production and inspection step.
Each step is signed by the Operator
responsible for it. The material
batch number is recorded as well.
Each board is certified to be
compliant and can be verified
on-demand.
Process Compatibility
Product application and process
parameters must be acknowledged in
the transition to RoHS Compliance.
These boards are produced using a
variety of FR4 materials (IPC-
4101/21/24/26) with different
performance attributes that provide
the appropriate Tg and Td levels for
every application. The surface
plating options allow another
opportunity to address the
application and establish process
compatibility.
Transition
Calumet is introducing these boards
well in advance of the proposed
deadline. We provide the references,
specifications, and standards that
identify the issues and ask the
appropriate questions. Our Technical
Associates will provide the
assistance to insure a successful
transition to the use of our RoHS
Compliant Printed Circuit Boards. |
