Calumet Electronics Corp. (Calumet) upgrades quality standard registrations.

Calumet has upgraded its ISO registration to the latest version, ISO9001:2008 and added registration to the Aerospace Standard AS9100:2004. ISO 9001:2008 contains no new requirements compared to the 2000 edition, which it replaces. It provides clarifications to the existing requirements of ISO 9001:2000 to standardize definitions and improve effectiveness. AS9100 incorporates the ISO9001:2008 standard including its corresponding guidelines. In addition, specific items have been added to the AS9100 standard to support the unique quality and reliability needs of the aerospace industry. AS9100 is recognized worldwide as a quality management system with an effective corrective action system, a system to handle client complaints and nonconformance. Some marketplaces require AS9100 registration. Some marketplaces do not openly require registration, but prefer to work with AS9100 registered suppliers.
